Lucy Liu is an American voice actress, producer, and singer. An attractive and intelligent actress she serves as an inspiration for many Asian actors who wish to make it big in Hollywood. Her fame was boosted by several popular characters in television the series. The most notable was her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. The actress took her initial success into big screen roles in films such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered an amazing performance as Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was also in leading roles in several film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced characters with prominent voices. Mia Mason's small-screen role as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce the desired results. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime drama - helped establish her as a leading actress. Liu is very careful in picking her roles to ensure that she does not become cast in a very competitive industry.
