Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on April 28, 1968, is an American singer and actress. Wuhrer first started her acting career when she was as a teenager. Her best-known character was as Maggie Beckett from the TV show Sliders as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker on the horror film Eight Legged Freaks. Her father was the eldest of three siblings. As a child, Wuhrer sang at nightclubs and slipped out to sing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School, at the age of 13, she pursued a degree in drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Additionally, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. She was born in Brookfield Connecticut on April 28 her birthplace, she was raised there. Her mother works as an accountant for payroll, while her father, German-American, is a police officer and car salesperson. Kari's children are three. In her teens performing in nightclubs, she was able to make a name for herself by slipping away to do so. Kari aged 13 years old studied at the Wooster School and Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She took drama classes at Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, Marymount Manhattan College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where she had a teacher known as Uta. Kari began acting as a teen. Her breakthrough occurred in 1987, when she was introduced to MTV Remote Control.
