Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg, a Swedish actor and actress who lived in Sweden during the 1950s through 1970s. made appearances in several European films and American ones. Most famously, she is known for her part in the comedy-drama film "La Dolce vita". The film won an Oscar and the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, as well as a commercial and critical success. The actress was born in Skane where she worked as an actress before beginning an acting career. She eventually won the Miss Sweden Contest. In the US, she started appearing in films playing minor roles. Her first credited role was in the film "Abbott & Costello Go to Mars", in which she was an Venusian guard. In the following year, she won the Golden Globe award in the 'Most Promising Newcomer', category following her appearance in the film 'Blood Alley'. Her films included numerous productions such as the American-Italian war drama War and Peace, the Western "Valerie," the British crime adventure film The Man Inside and the Italian/French drama The Dam on the Yellow River.' In the year 2015, she passed away at 83 years old.
